Weekly Commitment

40 hours per week, mostly between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m., Monday through Friday, but sometimes includes evenings , Saturdays and holidays

August 25: 17.5 hours per week, 2:30 p.m. to 6 p. m, and occasional half days and Saturday trainings

Living Allowance
 $438.36 paid bi-weekly (taxable)

August 19: $438.36 bi-weekly (taxable)

August 25: $335.00 bi-weeklly (taxable)

Education Award
$4,725 in the form of a voucher received upon completion of a term of service (Taxable when used)

August 19: $2,362.50

August 25: $1,800

Student Loan
Forbearance

Student loan forbearance with accrued interest paid upon completion of service. (Taxable)

Health and Accident
Insurance

All members without access to health insurance are enrolled in the EW health insurance plan. All members have accident insurance while in service.

Child Care
Reimbursement
If qualified. There are limits on household income, children's ages and other requirements.
Leave Time

August: 44 days

August 19: 37 days

August 25: 2 days personal leave; program is closed for 17 holidays and school closings

Uniforms
Shirts and sweatshirts provided by the EW
Relocation Expenses
Reimbursement for up to $500 for qualifying moving expenses for 1720 hour members. 
Training

All new members are required to attend training during their first week(s).  

NOTE:  All accepted members who are US citizens must bring to training either: (a) an unexpired passport, or (b) an original birth certificate and a photo ID.

All members must have a completed criminal background check report on file with EducationWorks before they can begin Pre-Service Training.
